Why are sports bras important?

Exercising without the correct support, for any size breasts, will damage the skin and the ligaments. The ligaments in the breast break down which causes sagging and soreness. Your breasts don’t just bounce up and down, they move in a figure eight. Once your ligaments stretch out, they do not bounce back. Sports bras are designed to reduce this movement.

It is so important to ensure you are wearing a sports bra that will support and protect your breasts.

Anita Sports Bra

Anita fuses high-function details like no other sports bra: complete stability supported by the X-shaped back which produces a “less bounce“ effect “while still being easy to wear and comfortable thanks to its “easy on and off” features.

  • Moulded, seamless, wireless cups are made of breathable, wicking non-stretch knit.
  • Fused two-ply cup is ventilated mesh outside, soft brushed knit inside.
  • Two-tone body with contrast accents is attractive and sporty.
  • Tall centre panel contains you for confident wear, with ventilation for comfort.
  • Sides and back are ventilated mesh, and have covered elastic at top for fit.
  • Straps sit further from the neck than other racer-backs, to help keep muscles more relaxed.
  • Wide, padded, non-stretch front straps have rounded edges.
  • Back stretch straps are diagonally anchored at inner side seams, providing 3 layers of stretch knit for extra support to sides.
  • CoolMax mesh lined racer-back is placed ergonomically for best shoulder mobility.
  • Silvertone metal hook-and-eye closure in back; see Fitter’s Comments below for hook count.
  • Back opening opens to side seam, easier to get on and off compared to other sports bras.

Taking care of your sports bra

Even if you’ve found the best sports bra ever designed, you will eventually have to let it go. Unfortunately, at some point a sports bra will lose its elasticity. However, there are ways you can lengthen its life:

  1. Hand wash only
  2. Do not use fabric softeners
  3. Don’t hang in sunlight to dry

A good sports bra should last six months to one year or approximately 72 washes.
