Satin Candy’s Real Women Search Competition recently came to a close after receiving more than thirty entries into the competition.

With a number of stunning photographs, the judges had a difficult time choosing those ladies whom they thought best suited the brand, but finally decided on three gorgeous and confident ladies who not only characterize the beautiful and diverse South Africa, but proudly showcase the tasteful lingerie brand.

Meet Zama Mkhabela, Sne Xulu and Yachal du Plessis – Satin Candy’s Real Women.

25 year old Zama Mkhabela, from Hammarsdale, is a PR, Media Marketing intern at S&A Marketing. She entered the competition because she believed that she was exactly what Satin Candy was looking for – a real woman. “I really enjoyed the professional fitting and photo shoot. What made it even better was having my mother by my side for moral support,” she said. For her, the one thing she most enjoyed about the photo shoot were the preparations, professional make-up and the photographer. “I also really loved the underwear. Not only is it beautiful, but it is probably the most comfortable underwear I have ever felt on my body. You can really feel the quality,” she added.

Joining her as a winner, is Sne Xulu, a 29 year old Credit Controller in the Health Insurance sector. Hailing from Redhill in Durban, Xulu says that she entered the competition for the sheer fun of it. “It sounded like a once in a lifetime opportunity and I like to think of myself as someone who lives in the moment, “she said. For her, the experience was incredibly enjoyable and says that the entire team made it fun. “I would definitely do another professional photo shoot like this, because it taught me to be proud of my body and comfortable in my own skin. I believe that we should challenge ourselves and not avoid the things that make us uncomfortable,” she added.

The final woman in the Real Woman Competition is 29 year old, Assagay resident, Yachal du Plessis, a Marketing Manager for a moving and rigging company.

“I was told about the competition from a friend who is on the Satin Candy’s mailing list. She suggested that I enter the competition,” she said.

For her, the competition was extremely fun and she would definitely encourage her friends to enter the next one.

“The one thing I loved most about the photo shoot was the professionalism of the setup, photographer and make-up that made me feel like a “real” model shooting in Milan,” she added.

Sandra Thomas, the owner of Satin Candy, stated that she is very proud of these ladies and is excited to see their fresh new faces representing her brand in the upcoming advertising campaigns.
