Satin Candy meets Robin Hood Foundation – Gina Bertolotti, Leonie Hensby, Kim Griffith Jones; Mel Gard busy packing over 200 brand new bras for POISE & PRIDE visit to Shongweni Dam & Kwanjobazi
Throughout the month of August, The Robin Hood Foundation joined forces with local company Satin Candy and WSI to make a difference to the young women in our more rural communities – most of whom go DAILY without proper feminine hygiene products and the luxury of a new bra.
Kim Griffith Jones, coordinator of The Robin Hood Foundation stated, “The community support has been fantastic! We are so excited to be able to provide 160 young teenage girls from Thokoza Mnganga High School, feminine items, and at the same time inspire, educate and uplift them.
Sandra Thomas of Satin Candy added, “We were delighted to be involved in this campaign where we could provide assistance to these young girls and are grateful to our customers who assisted in collecting over 250 brand new bras in the pride and poise campaign”.
Each of the teenage girls were the recipients of a feminine essentials hamper each containing: New panties and bras from Satin Candy, Subz Washable Sanitary pack, packs of soap, facecloths, deodorant sprays and roll on, lotion and pamper products, toothbrush and toothpaste, sanitary pads / panty liners as well as a variety of girly items i.e. nail polish, purse, handbag, scarves.
“Our most humble and grateful thanks to our generous community and the companies that contributed towards for this educational event for these young girls!” they concluded.
