It’s no secret that your body undergoes some weird and wonderful changes during pregnancy and after giving birth. The wow factor of this transformation, besides your baby bump of course, is almost always, your breasts.
As I think back to my perfectly perky pre-pregnancy boobs, I can’t help feeling hard done by. When I now look down at what’s left of them after having my children.) I’ve heard tall tales of the lucky ones who end up with bigger bouncy boobs post pregnancy but, for the most of us, what’s left behind is often downright depressing. This hard core reality can be hard to accept for many, possibly because our breasts are symbols of femininity and desirability. And, after child birth, it’s common to feel the complete opposite of both.
Many moms have stories about their obscene umpteen brassiere size collection during pregnancy and post baby. As hormones constantly build and drop over this time, it’s only natural that our breasts follow suit. And no amount of bio oil massages and prenatal yoga can prevent the inevitable changes. So, if you are one us and still saving pennies for that dream boob job, consider these tips on how to make the best of your breasts in the meanwhile.
1. You may still be holding onto those grotesque beige breast harnesses,
But, remember, bras are now fashionably fabulous while still checking all the comfort and support boxes – even the breastfeeding ones! Consider trading them in for a new set of bras that make you feel like a sexy mamma.
2. Many women confess that they feel insecure about their bare breasts dancing around during hanky panky moments.
But, plain and simple… Men. Love. Boobs! Any boobs! If you are not currently feeling in love with yours, put on a racy lacy number or any bra that makes you feel like a saucy minx before you get your groove on. When you feel good, you look great!
3. Always wear a bra that fits.
Bras that leave suction indentation tattoos or gape open begging for a sock stuffing will only make you feel more uncomfortable about your body during this ever changing time. Invest in a variety of good bras in a range of sizes. When your breast size eventually settles and stabilises, pack away the bras that no longer fit you correctly.
4. Don’t be too hard on yourself.
You have done something incredible in devoting your life and your body to nurture a mini you for nine months. And as you continue to do so – whether you’re breast feeding or not – take comfort in the fact that you are not alone. As many of us have discovered, being a mother is a beautiful thing.
So, let’s celebrate the fact that all boobs – big, small, perky, jiggling, upturned, downturned – are gorgeous. They celebrate all the beautiful shapes and sizes that make up women! Don’t forget that the ladies at Satin Candy are here to make sure that you feel beautiful, no matter which fabulous lady shape you are!
